- From October 1st, 2025. A new tourist tax from the departmental government will goeffect, which must be paid bynon-resident guests over the age of 11 staying in Montevideo hotels. It costs USD 1 per person per night with a maximum limit of USD 5 and is paid separately from the room rate.
